A hand salute to Jewish group If Not Now (INN). I am proud of INN movement whose activists oppose the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This progressive Jewish group also opposes United States policies and institutions that support Israel's occupation, and it denounces the Trump Administration's authoritarian agenda. This group usually seeks to apply pressure through direct action and media work.

Khalil, 30, is a legal U.S. resident with no criminal record, his wife is a US citizen, and they are expecting the arrival of their first child next month.
If Not Now protesters marching to prevent ICEing Free Speech It is rather bizarre to call anyone who dares to oppose the genocidal massacre of civilians at the hands of the Israeli government a "Hamas supporter" even though they are not. Opposition to genocide is NOT the equivalent of supporting Hamas. It is possible to oppose the genocidal massacre of civilians at the hands of Israel's government without being antisemitic since opposition to a government is not opposition to Jews. The truth is, labeling of opposition to genocide as being the same as support for Hamas is all about silencing opposition to genocide. The problem is that the US government is blindly supporting Israel in the indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians for several decades and the U.S. media takes its cues from Israeli propaganda.  So, the real terrorists are Israel and the US. After all, if Hamas supporters are labeled 'evil,' then what would Israel supporters be labeled? I think 'genocidal' would be more appropriate. Inline image
Jewish Americans call for ceasefire. Photo credit: time.com If Not Now rejects Trump's Soviet-style political persecution of free speech activists under the guise of immigration enforcement and it believes that nonviolence is how it will win the hearts and minds within the Jewish community. This group stands for peace and is committed to ending the cycles of violence that affect everyone. For that, we should all lift up their voices. Thank you, If Not Now, for defending Palestinians. Mahmoud El-Yousseph is a Palestinian freelancer for Islamicity.com and ColumbusFreepress.com.
