Donald Trump has initiated the destruction of the American democracy in breathtaking speed. In less that two months, the world has changed as America has changed from a Republic with the promise of justice, civil rights, and a government “by the people and for the people” to a budding fascist dictatorship. Now, authoritarian rule has landed squarely on the heads of all Americans so quickly that people have not been able to process the change.

Americans have been conditioned to believe that living under an authoritarian rule is worse than death, thus Russia and China need to be labeled as enemies, and citizens are expected to support wars against them. But the enemy has emerged from within.

The key issue is that Trump has no intention of following the rulings of any judge, and his Blond Bombshell Pam Bondi at the Department of Justice is not about to support individual rights or follow any judicial ruling. As I wrote previously, the Rule of Law is dead in America. There is little chance of seeing a functional legal system in the next 4 years, and beyond, as I suspect that Trump will not give up power when his current term expires.

Which of the following bullet points are the most dangerous to the way of life that we had come to expect for ourselves and our children? Although difficult to prioritize, the threat of nuclear war should be considered the most serious, as it is not simply a threat to our way of life, rather it is a threat to life itself, which includes everyone on the planet as well as all living organisms. All the history, all the joy, all the music, sports, and hobbies could be destroyed in a matter of hours.

> Trump and Netanyahu are planning to attack Iran, and the use of nuclear weapons is being considered. Trump has denied reporting that Musk was to get access to top-secret U.S. Plans for a war with China, but that story is evidence that there is an active war plan against China.

> Trump has joined with Netanyahu to continue the genocide of defenseless population of Gaza, as expected. It is beyond belief to think that in the year 2025, the solution to the plight of Palestinians is to drop bombs upon defenseless people, yet we are expected to witness and support the genocide with our silence. In the first 48 hurs, 1000 people have been killed, half of them are children. Israel is bombing Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen all at once.

“And yet this openly, brazenly, unapologetically genocidal speech from the man in charge of the Israeli army has not been covered by many Western media outlets “ per Owen Jones “Battlelines.” This is one example: Israeli minister threatens civilians with genocide.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has published an explicit statement of genocidal intent toward the people of Gaza, threatening civilians in the enclave with collective punishment in the form of “total devastation” if they do not find a way to overthrow Hamas and free all Israeli hostages as reported by Caitlin Johnstone: Israel Makes Its Most Explicit Statement Of Genocidal Intent Yet.

> Trump ends the America Empire's proxy war vs Russia. The Empire proxy war against Russia: It may be optimistic to hope that Trump will end the American proxy war in Ukraine, but there is no success as of yet, and in any case, it will be trading in one war for another. The Military Industrial Complex must be fed!

Journalists under attack. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prevents Congress from making laws respecting an establishment of religion; prohibiting the free exercise of religion; or abridging the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievance.

Attacks, arrests, threats, censorship: The high risks of reporting the Israel-Gaza war: These include 75 arrests, as well as numerous assaults, threats, cyberattacks, and censorship. As of March 21, 2025, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ)’s records showed that 34 of these journalists were still under arrest.

Domestically, the outlook is also disastrous.

> People were sent to one of the worst prisons in the world, in El Salvador, without trial or recourse. Citizens are expected to believe that they are all from Venezuela and all gang members, but this is not true. This means that the US government can kidnap a person off the street, and send them to El Salvador, without any legal recourse.

> Students who protested America support of Israeli genocide (Mahmoud Khalil and many more) are being deported without a trial. Universities are being forced to support Israel's genocide. From the founding of this country, people have enjoyed the right to protest, as this is the essence of Freedom of Speech. It is difficult to imagine that one could be deported for protesting for any cause, but the one event that cries out for justice is the slaughter of the Palestinian population in Gaza. Yet these protesters of genocide are being punished in a way that we have never witnessed in the United States.

Nor is it only pursuing foreigners, like student visa and green card holders, or those without legal status. The manhunt, events this week make clear, is also targeted at the American people. 

> Elon Musk's illegal Doge crew has been terminating Federal Employees without any proper review of individual performance or a review of the projects on which they worked. As expressed in town halls around the country, no one voted to have their friends and family terminated from their employment without warning or recourse. Federal employee's work for us, so when the service sucks at any agency, we can blame Trump and Musk for firing people who work for the average citizen.

Pentagon: Doge is not targeting the bloated military budget.

Social Security: 7000 workers, 47 offices to be closed.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA): 76,000

Department of Agriculture: 42,000, including 3,400 from the Forest Service.

Deparment of Education: 13,000 workers to start, plans to eliminate the entire department.

Internal Revenue Service: 20% of the workforce

Department of Energy: 2,800

Center for Disease Control: 13,000

Department of Homeland Security: 400

Significant numbers of employees have been fired from the U.S. Forest Service, Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Small Business Administration (SBA), General Services Administration (GSA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Trump's idiotic trade wars have already tanked the stock market and will certainly be inflationary. If you care about the price of eggs, consider buying chickens. If you care about your retirement nest egg, cross your fingers.

The Cost of Empire: As Trump sells the idea that he is cutting government waste, we should consider the cost of Empire. As of Feb 21, Doge claimed to have saved 55 billion dollars, of which 6.5 billion is from USAid. By comparison, the Ukraine war has cost American taxpayers 280 billion dollars and the support of Israeli genocide has been 17.9 Billion. Until the cost of the military wing of the American Empire is reduced, the cost of Doge is being born largly by terminated American workers while the cost of military conflict continues to increase.

Doge claimed to have saved $105 billion dollars. Chat GPT estimates the cost of weapons systems in the year 2023 to be 816.9 billion dollars, aproximately one-third of the total defense budget.

Iran war prediction:

Perpetual warfare is the reason for America's debt and deficit. America is accustomed to believe destroying people and property from the air will result in a victory, but the 18 month Israel's “war “on Gaza demonstrates that war cannot be won without boots on the ground. Afghanistan and Iraq demonstrate the same results, as well as the proxy war against Russia. America can destroy Iran, but the cost will mean that the American Empire also loses. A war with Iran will not result in a victory but will rather complete the bankrupting of America, slaughter millions of people, make climate change irreversable, and gain absolutly nothing for the American people.

I grieve for the America that I once knew.
