According to the Army Radio, this is the third time since the beginning of the war and the 23 times in 22 years that Israel has attempted to kill Abu Obaida. He has managed to escape all previous attempts but this time Israel succeeded. He was killed by Israeli airstrikes that targeted an apartment building believing he was in at the Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City on August 30, 2025. The Times of Israel reported that 11 people, including children, were killed in the strike.

One of his famous quotes, “We saw God’s victory manifest as we stormed the enemy’s fortresses on October 7th, which crumbled before us like a spider’s web.” Abu Obaida threatened Israel on August 29 that it would "pay the price" with "its soldiers' blood" if it sought to conquer Gaza City.

Abu Obeida is a hero and the voice of resistance. He exposed the Israeli lies and showed the world who the real child-killers are, the Zionists.

He stood like a mountain with nothing but faith in his heart, facing an enemy with weapons far greater than his own — and yet, it was his courage that shook the Israelis. Many Israelis trusted him though more than Crime Minister Netanyahu. Reason? If he promised, he delivers, and if he speaks, he does not lie. When Abu Obeida spoke, the whole world listens, but when Abu Mazen speaks, everyone says, "STFU!"

More than forty of his relatives were murdered in the Gaza war, most of them women and children, including his three children.

History has already decided: heroes live forever in honor; traitors rot forever in shame.

Despite concealing his identity for two decades, his voice alone was enough to scare the day light out of Israeli officials and the Israeli public, making him a top target.

Who is Abu Obeida?

▪️The spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
▪️He was known for his high-pitched voice, his red keffiyeh, and the green headband he always wore in his video statements.
▪️Israel claimed to have assassinated him repeatedly.
▪️Over the course of nearly 20 years, his nickname became an icon associated with the victories of the Qassam Brigades and   the defeats of Israel and its army in the Gaza Strip.
▪️His nickname became the most widely used and circulated on social media in Israel, Palestine, and Arab and Islamic countries.
▪️The announcement of his appearance was linked to widespread anticipation of "highly credible" information related to the war and related matters. He has been dubbed several times, including "the voice of Gaza" and "the voice of the resistance."

For over two decades, Tel Aviv continued to claim that he had been targeted and assassinated in Gaza.

His last appearance was on July 18, where he affirmed the Qassam Brigades' readiness to wage a "long battle of attrition" against Israel.

Early life and education

* He was born ion 11 February 1985 in Jabalia Camp, north of the Israeli occupied Gaza Strip

* He received his education at UNRWA school.

* Abu Obeida was married and had children. He was the eldest son of a family with six children, including three sons and three daughters. However, specific details about his marriage and children are not widely documented according to Wikipedia.

* He joined Hamas and its military brigades early on with the outbreak of the Second Intifada in 2000.

* His role within the Qassam Brigades became prominent, rising through its ranks in field and media roles.

* He earned a master's degree in Quranic interpretation from the Islamic University in Gaza.

First Appearance and Media Role

* He first gained media prominence in October 2004 during the "Days of Rage" battle.

* Since then, he has become the media face of the Qassam Brigades.

* He officially assumed the position of media spokesman for the Qassam Brigades after Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in 2005.

* As head of the Qassam Brigades' Military Media Department, he oversaw several departments, including documentation and photography, psychological operations, media platform management, and the issuance of visual and written statements.

* He was known for his rare media appearances and lived under tight security conditions, avoiding direct contact with the public to avoid being targeted by Israel.
.
* The announcement of an anticipated speech often preceded the unveiling of a Qassam Brigades military achievement.

US Sanctions against Abu Obeida

* In 2024, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on him as the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, considering his activity part of what it described as "support for terrorism."

* First of all, that is the dumbest thing the US did. The US is an active participant in the genocide. At one hand, it gives indicted war criminal Netanyahu the red-carpet treatment and on the other hand, it targets a Palestinian who resisted the illegal foreign occupation. This makes no sense!

* Secondly, Abu Obeida does not have a bank out in the US, Europe, or the Middle East. Plus, he never left Gaza since he was born due to the 17 years illegal and inhumane siege and perhaps his entire life.

It should be noted here that Hamas lost many of its leaders in the past, such as Dr. Rantisi, Mohammad Deif, Isamail Haniyeh, and Yahya Sinwar & it's still stronger than ever.

Shamefully, not one single mainstream news outlet has condemned the targeted assassination of Abu Obeida in an apartment building that took the life of other 11 more people, including children. Imagine if a Muslim country had assassinated the White House spokeswoman Karoline Claire Leavitt, and bragged about it. The whole world would be screaming bloody marry and call for retaliation for imposing immediate sanctions. Shame on all media personnel complicit in this Holocaust against Gaza.

Yes, Abu Obeida is a hero in Palestine and all over the world. History has already decided: heroes live forever in honor; traitors rot forever in shame.
Lom Beho @ANTITERRORIPON eulogized Abu Obeida on August 31 post on twitter in response to Palestinian traitor @MosabHasanYOSEF post, ·

" You call Abu Obeida a “butcher,” but to us he is a Hero and the Voice of Resistance. He exposed your lies and showed the world who the real child-killers are the Zionists."
You celebrate his death? Know this: men like Abu Obeida do not die — they become legends, their names echo in millions of hearts.

You speak of “truth” and “justice?" Real justice will be the fall of your occupation and the burning of your lies in the same fire as your colonial dream. History has already decided: heroes live forever in honor; traitors rot forever in shame."

Shame on all media personnel complicit in this Holocaust against Gaza.

Farewell, Abu Obeida!
