President-elect Trump threatened on December 2 that there would be "hell to pay" if the remaining hostages were not released by the time he assumes office on January 20. He was referring to the Palestinians and the Arab regimes, not Israel!
Is Trump going to unleash hell on Gaza? Newsflash: the Palestinians passed hell a long time ago. It did not free the hostages." This was my first thought when I heard it. What could he possibly do to make it an even worse hell?
The answer to that would probably be nuclear because Israel has used genocide, starvation, and ethnic cleansing as weapons for 14 months and failed miserably to even free one hostage life.
I wouldn't worry too much about Trump. We're just going to waste another 4 years babysitting this sick individual, and hopefully, this will be the last we hear of him because I am so sick of him and anything to do with him.
What's the worst Trump can do? Bomb them?
Biden/Harris kept funding and arming the genocidal, apartheid state of Israel against the wishes of a majority of their constituents.
Trump is barking up the wrong tree regarding the hostages, seven of whom were Israeli American citizens who enlisted in the IOF instead of the US armed forces. Trump's threat should be directed at Netanyahu- meaning he'd better make a deal by 1/20, or else? Because Trump doesn't want the hostages to become his problem.
After all, hell to pay? Who is he kidding? Hell has already been paid many times over. Destroy hospitals? Done. Schools? Got those, too. Children are starving, and their parents are killed. Yep, more every day. Drive everyone left out of Gaza. Already in the works. West Bank, too! Kick them out and rip up olive groves in the process. Trump is just the pom-pom boy for Netanyahu and the LiKKKud.
Does he even realize that his threat should be directed at Netanyahu since Netanyahu has rejected every proposal for a cease-fire/ hostage exchange deal for over a year and when there was a fairly reasonable deal on the table?
Netanyahu always wiggled out of signing on the dotted line at the last minute. Biden is very much aware of those maneuvers. Still, Trump chooses to ignore them because they don't reflect well on his pal, Netanyahu. He uses the same manipulative tactics — for the same reasons as his Israeli friend: to stay in power and out of jail.
Hell, to Pay. As if Gaza is not hell already? I see another person eager to add his name to the ICC list of war criminals
The things I see on my TV will stick with me forever. Imagine how they affect the people who are there and experiencing them.
Do you think Trump has any interest in the hostages? He hates Arabs, and he's not crazy about Jews either, at least not unless they give him payloads of money (like the deluded Miriam Adelson)
If Trump manages to resolve the hostage issue, that is, the 101 Israeli and 16,000 Palestinian hostages in Israeli prisons, and free the 2 million hostages under siege in Gaza, this is Trump's perfect chance to win the much-coveted Nobel Peace Prize, but he is too naive to see it.
On a lighter note, I promise herewith to vote for Trump in 2028 and lobby for his victory should he choose to run again if he does the following:
1- Condemn the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
2- Demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
3- Stop all US military aid to Israel.
4- Send immediate humanitarian aid to all parts of Gaza.
5- Demand the immediate start of rebuilding Gaza.
6- Lift the 17-year illegal and inhumane siege on Gaza by Israel and Egypt.
